Description

The Computer Aide is responsible for all data entry, record keeping, and statistical reports as assigned.

Full time, Non-Exempt Position
Location: On-Site
Rate of Pay: $15.78/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for entering all Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) application information (personal information, medical information employment, etc.) into CAPTAIN.
  • Proofreads new entries for accuracy and edits current information as needed.
  • Prepares correspondence, memorandums, labels etc. relating to the program as required.
  • Set up, prepare, and distributes monthly HS/EHS Parent Newsletter.
  • Answers telephones, receive and relay messages, direct/redirects calls as required and respond to routine inquires.
  • Client tracking entries into CAPTAIN for all service areas.
  • Data entry of weekly attendance.
  • Assists in processing In-Kinds forms and data entry.
  • Responsible for typing, filing, copying and collating as assigned by PDM Coordinator.
  • Monitors Monthly Health & Safety Checklist forms and assist with follow up action.
  • Prepares and maintains Office files for Child & Family Information. 
  • Sets up and maintains program inventory list as appropriate.
  • Is responsible for entering data of all Heights and Weights, Vision and Dental services and results.
  • Assists as needed with ordering office supplies for centers and management requests.
  • Attends all staff meetings, training sessions, etc. as directed.
  • Follows all health and safety regulations.
  • Assists with ensuring the appropriate documentation of Non Federal Share for all volunteers and donations to the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
  • All other related duties deemed necessary by the PDM coordinator or the HS/EHS Director or Associate Director.   
  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Joint Council for Economic Opportunity, Inc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and, six months of related experience and/or training; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
