Description
JCEO is a private, not-for-profit human service agency that serves the residents of Clinton and Franklin Counties in New York State. All programs are based on JCEO's mission to alleviate poverty through practical, timely, and innovative services that emphasize and develop problem-solving skills for people.

The Director of Human Resources will be integral in developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall mission and strategic direction of the agency, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation.

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000.00

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall mission of the agency.
  • Manage the recruitment process to attract diverse talent aligned with our values and mission.
  • Lead employee relations, promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and problem-solving.
  • Oversee performance management, aligning employee objectives with agency goals.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and oversee payroll.
  • Develop and implement training programs that foster staff development and support our mission.
  • Ensure legal compliance with employment laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to nonprofit organizations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of HR experience.
  • Significant leadership experience in a nonprofit or community-focused organization preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within nonprofit HR management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and inclusiveness.
  • Experience in developing and supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance the needs of the organization and its employees.
